We specialize in Senior Moving

Senior Moving

Selecting the right Senior Living facility for your loved ones can be a challenge in itself. With all that comes into play with the transition of a Senior allow Two Men And A Truck do the heavy lifting for you and your loved ones! We treat all of our customers with respect while establishing trust and comfort while handling precious belongings. We've gathered some tips to ease the stress of your loved ones transition into an Adult Community...
  • Sort Together: Generally when a Senior transitions into a Senior Living Community downsizing is a must! Make a family affair out of the situation. Take the opportunity to create move memories together and ease the stress of the transition for your loved ones. Support from the family can ease the stress your loved ones may be facing making the move into a new environment.
  • Donate Together: Donating is a great step toward downsizing! This can also ease the stress from your loved ones knowing their belongings will come to great use for others instead of sitting in a box gathering dust in storage. Donating items to others who could use them can also reduce some anxiety your loved ones may face while downsizing.
  • Efficiency: Gathering packing supplies, renting a truck, trips up and down the stairs, and returning rentals can be stressful and also take away valuable time with your loved ones during this transition. Using that valuable saved time to help put your loved ones at ease right before their transition into a new community is crucial. Two Men And A Truck can take care of the packing, heavy lifting and unpacking for you and your loved ones! Instead of worrying about all the logistics of moving take this time to help comfort your loved ones and get them settled in during this new transition. Two Men And A Truck can handle the rest! We can also take any unwanted items to a donation center of your choice.

Treat your loved ones to the "Movers Who Care"! We will ease the stress out of your next move!

Getting crafty with boxes!

Diys for all of those left over boxes from your most recent move...

Crafts are always fun to do, especially when it involves saving cost!

We have put together a couple fun crafty Valentine projects involving reusing boxes to save cost as well as putting those boxes to good use!

Cardboard heart décor:

Time: 20 minutes

Supplies:

Cardboard
Yarn or ribbon
Craft paper
Hot glue gun
Scissors

Step 1: Cut out two large hearts from a cardboard box.

Step 2: Fold each heart in half to form a crease down the center, giving you four outward half-heart shapes. Use a hot glue gun to secure the two pieces together at the back of each fold.

Step 3: Time to be creative! Cover the hearts in craft paper or stickers of your choice.

Step 4: Secure ribbon or yarn around the heart and hang in your home or at your kids Valentines parties!

And of coarse we had to diy a Day of the Move Box for the children to collect all of their sweet Valentines!

Time: 30 min

Supplies:
Day of the Move box
craft paper
hot glue gun
scissors
Misc. Stickers/heart décor

Step one: Create your design and cut your measured craft paper. (its easiest to lay the box flat and stencil with a pencil)
Step2: Use hot glue gun to adhere craft paper on box including all edges.
Step 3: Get creative and play around with different décor to personalize your new Valentines box!

We hope you enjoy putting together these awesome projects with any left over boxes!
Happy Valentines!

Movers For Moms®

Movers For Moms®

We have officially begun our partnerships for our Movers For Moms campaign and we are excited! One thing I've learned while being a part of the Two Men And A Truck team is that we always support the community in which each franchise is based. I'm so proud to be a part of the team for this reason and many more! So to dig into what Movers For Moms is all about....
TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® locations across the country collect donations for women every spring and deliver them to local women’s and family shelters on or before Mother’s Day. Franchises partner with local shelters, schools, and other community organizations to collect goods that will make Mother’s Day special for moms living in shelters.
We love jumping into the community and moving people forward! Getting involved in the community is our top priority.
Together we can make a difference in the lives of those in need in our community!! We will be setting up a collection drive and plan to deliver all donations to Winnies Place right around Mother's Day!💐
Winnies Place is a shelter program to assist women, with or without children, who are homeless or victims of violence move away from their current situations and towards a world of new opportunities. They provide safe secure shelter, food, clothing, group support, individual support, case management, parenting support, bible study, spiritual support, encouragement, acceptance, and hope. We have recognized the good they have done for the community and we appreciate the opportunity to partner with Winnies Place!

If you, your place of work, or your business would like to join us in this year's efforts- email elisabet.acosta@twomen.com.
...
Thank you Quad Cities for all your support in our past campaigns!

Home Moving Checklist

Home moving Checklist

When a move is approaching a million things are running through your head. Where do I get boxes? How many boxes will I need? When do I disconnect my utilities? What about change of address?

A lot of situations factor in with a move...Don't sweat it, we've got you covered!
Heres our time frame layout of what should be taken care of and in what order.

A month befor the move:

-Reserve a moving company for your move as soon as you know you are moving. If you need packing assistance, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® can also pack up your house, apartment, or condo for you.
-Visit your local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® to purchase moving boxes and necessary packing supplies.
-Start to clean out closets, the garage, and attic.
-Host a garage sale or donate your unwanted things to charity.
-Arrange to transfer school records.
-Get change of address cards from your local post office or change your address online.
-Notify magazines, charge accounts, insurance companies, clubs, and all other organizations of your change of address.

1-2 weeks before the move:

-Make a "survival closet" of things you will need for the final clean-up and include snacks for the last day.
-If you decide to pack yourself, label all moving boxes as you pack. Write the destination room on the top and sides of each moving box to ensure it gets to the right place in your new home. If you’re pressed for time, or overwhelmed with packing, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® offers full-service packing.
-Schedule disconnects for utilities such as gas, electric, water and the telephone. If you have a landline, do not disconnect it until after your  move. Arrange for refunds that are due, and schedule connections for your new residence.
-Cancel newspapers, Internet, cable TV, security, pest control, cleaning help, lawn maintenance, and any other services you receive.

The week of the move:

-Mail in your change of address forms.
-Clean the stove and finish up any last minute cleaning before move day.
-Finish up packing and be sure all items are boxed and ready to go prior to the movers’ arrival.

The day before the move:

-Clean the refrigerator, then defrost and dry.
-Get enough cash to tide you over. Cash comes in handy if you need to order pizza during your move, or dinner in your new place!
-Say goodbye to your neighbors!

Day of the move:

-Pack your suitcase and day of the move box with all necessary essentials to get you through the next few days in case you don’t get to unpacking right away. -Be sure you’re present when the movers arrive so you can walk them through the home and indicate what you need moved or anything in particular they should be aware of. -Once all belongings are loaded onto the moving truck, be sure to do one more walkthrough and lock all windows and outside doors, in addition to checking all lights and your thermostat are off before heading to your new home.

We hope these tips help to smooth out your move!
If you are in need of packing supplies, a scheduled move, or an estimate started give us a call at 563.391.2636

Happy Moving!
